Dear SSWN Reader: 
We are deeply grateful for the School Social Work Network’s participation in our 2020 study of school social workers’ experiences during COVID-19. Due to your and other members’ involvement, we were able to present school social workers’ unique experiences and suggestions for educational policy in a technical report and policy brief that led to a Congressional briefing. Your voices were incorporated into policy proposals and laws that advocated increasing the funding for and the number of school social workers (SSWs) serving our nation’s schools. Our national survey project was one of very few that highlighted an ecological school social worker perspective during COVID, and we are so appreciative of your partnership and enthusiasm during the challenging year that was 2020. As a membership association dedicated to supporting school social workers and that was co-founded by one of our original research team members, SSWN is an important partner for continuing to ensure that social workers’ voices are heard and elevated in the national policy arena.  
This spring, we launched a new survey, with the goal of sustaining and growing social work services, support, and capacity for years to come. Please help spread the word about this new work—so that your distinctive social worker views can continue to be amplified across multiple policy settings, from local to national levels. In this new survey we are interested in understanding and elevating school social workers’ ideas and experiences about how schools are responding to and recovering from the multiple traumatic experiences school staff, students, and families experienced during the 2021-2022 academic year. We want to know what SSWs think should be done going forward and will be offering 1:1 interviews in addition to the quantitative and qualitative survey results. Evidence gathered through research, and promoting your ideas and experiences is a powerful way to get the social work perspective on the national agenda. Please take the survey here! With sufficient responses from SSWN, we would be happy to provide the organization with an independent report detailing the unique views and experiences of its members.
